Description
Support the move to a grown-up bed.
Safety 1st’s Top-of-Mattress Bed Rail helps define the side of the bed when your child is ready for an adult bed. The mesh panel lets you see through it, while grey fabric and white supports fit easily into the bedroom. Height adjustment positions the rail above the mattress, and SecureTech indicators provide a visual reference when checking the locks. This model is intended for children aged 2 to 5 who can get into and out of their bed without help.

A panel positioned above the mattress
The top-of-mattress design keeps the panel close to the sleeping surface. Before buying, check mattress thickness and whether the bed support meets the manual’s requirements. Once installed, the rail must stay firmly against the mattress without gaps, while maintaining the required clearance from the headboard and footboard.

Check the locks at a glance
SecureTech markings help you check both supports. The indicators must be fully green with the locked symbol visible. Use this visual check alongside a daily inspection: both supports must be at the same height, all parts present and the rail firmly in position.

What age is this bed rail for?
Ages 2 to 5, only when your child can get into and out of an adult bed without help. It is not for children younger than 2 and does not replace a crib.
Does it fit every bed?
No. It is intended for a compatible adult bed with a twin, double or queen mattress 4–10 inches thick. The manual excludes toddler beds, bunk beds, water beds and inflatable mattresses. Check the box spring or mattress support before installation as well.
Are tools required?
An adult can assemble and install the rail without tools. Follow every step in the manual and check the finished installation carefully.
What should I check around the rail?
The rail must fit tightly against the mattress without gaps, with at least 9 inches (23 cm) between the rail and the headboard or footboard. Never fill gaps with pillows or blankets. Check the parts, locks and mattress contact daily.
How do I clean the panel?
Spot clean with a damp sponge, mild soap and water, then air dry. Do not remove the mesh cover from its frame.
